General Counsel

* As part of Aternity’s separation from Riverbed Technology, a Thoma Bravo company, Aternity seeks a General Counsel/Contract Attorney to join their fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial and team-focused Global organization. This role is based in our Boston, MA headquarters and will report to the CFO. This role will create, draft, review and modify contracts with vendors, partners, and customers. This role will put you in a position to work closely with Aternity’s Leadership team on mitigating risks and providing insight on all contracts and other legal matters. In addition, counsel will be engaged in matters around corporate development and partnerships that will further the growth of the company.

* About the Role:

Work directly with customers, vendors, partners, and others to manage and negotiate contracts and agreements.

Collaborate with executive and senior team members to provide advice and professional guidance on risks and suitability of contracts toward the attainment of company goals

Verify all documents and contracts to ensure they meet high levels of quality and accuracy

Support the development of internal policies and guidelines for contract management

Partner with the executive team to establish alliances and engage in M&A opportunities

* About you:

Qualified candidates must have excellent communication skills. You work well and partner with a geographically dispersed team (domestic and international). You are highly organized, mind the details and see the bigger picture. You bring a strong understanding of legal contracts, a demonstrated ability to apply that guidance in a fast-paced environment.

* Additional qualifications include:

Juris Doctor degree (JD) and actively licensed to practice law.

Minimum of 10 years’ legal experience drafting and negotiating contracts on software licensing, technical services, IT and SaaS contracts, and have completed alliance and M&A transactions.

Advanced skills with Excel, PowerPoint, and collaborative platforms like SharePoint;

Ability to work confidentially and responsibly at all levels within an organization;

Demonstrated experience as a contributing member of a high performing team.
