General Counsel

We are a real estate investment and development company headquartered in the City of Industry. The company extensively invests in hotels, luxury residential and commercial projects in California. We are currently seeking an experienced in-house counsel to provide legal advice and counsel to management and perform various legal duties. The position directly reports to the President of the company.

Major Duties And Responsibilities Include

Providing legal advice to all business areas to ensure compliance with state and federal laws, government regulations and employment laws;

Drafting and reviewing corporate documentation, contracts, and agreements;

Advising in partnerships, licensing, and general commercial matters;

Representing company in legal proceedings (administrative boards, court trials etc.);

Interfacing with outside counsel on complex matters, including litigation;

Managing corporate formation documents and other documentation; and,

Additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements And Qualifications

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, valid and active California Bar license, and a minimum of four years of experience;

Bilingual in English and Mandarin/Japanese (both speaking and writing) required;

Excellent negotiation and communications skills;

Ability to work well under flexible work schedules;

In-house experience preferred.
