General Counsel

Equa is seeking a professional and detail oriented General Counsel to add to our exciting team. Our ideal candidate would specialize in Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Law, Reorganizations, etc. and will be an intricate cog in the legal/compliance team. You will receive all the tools needed to succeed in your work. Our customers are entrepreneurs and existing business owners seeking to create and develop their incredible ideas into conception, and we help them every step of the way.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide legal opinions on various situations

Provide interpretations and recommendations to management and other staff

Plan and implement internal policies and procedures

Predict issues if possible

Estimate risks in advance

Proactively look for solutions and better practices to mitigate risk

Deal with external parties such as regulators and external counsels

Drive, motivate and direct team toward the right performance

Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations

Qualifications:

5+ years experience being General Counsel or similar role

Excellent knowledge of wide range of legal issues, specializing in corporate law, mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructuring

Very good understanding of legal issues

Ability to develop legal strategy and objectives

Ability to predict and prevent legal issues and risks

Strong moral and ethical principles

Professional ethics

Excellent judgement and analytical skills

Effective communication skills, and desire to work as a team

Leadership and management skills

BSc degree in Law

MA or BSc in Business Administration is a plus

JOB TYPE: Full-time - must be in house and dedicated to just us!

HIRING TIME FRAME: In the next 3 weeks to 6 months, until we find that perfect fit!

EXPERIENCE: 5+ years

WORK AUTHORIZATION: United States (Required)

Denver Metro Area preferred or willing to relocate. Possibly open to remote if the candidate is a perfect fit.
