Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to Health Center operations
Advise management and Board of Directors regarding legal matters as needed
Draft, review and revise contracts, standard corporate documents, and other agreements as necessary
Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Oversees the development, management and annual review of GVHC’s policies and procedures, in collaboration with policy owners and executive reviewers.
Responsible for the preparation of all internal and external records and reports as required by the Board of Directors and CEO.
Advise the Security Officer and Privacy Officer as needed on matters related to HIPAA regulations and risk assessments.
Other duties and projects as assigned by the CEO.
Min. Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE: Experience with contract review, interpretation of federal, state and regulatory statutes, compliance, legal counsel.

SKILLS: Strong facilitation and presentation skills, critical thinking skills including problem solving ability. Strong project management skills with proven ability to establish goals, timelines and actions plans as well as follow-through. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to work collaboratively. Ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity. Strong computer skills.

ABILITY TO: Manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Demands

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to pounds 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to sit at a desk or computer terminal for 8 hours daily. Work inside. Travel to various worksites and other locations as needed to conduct business of the organization

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Education/Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Juris Doctor Degree and ability to practice law in the State of California is required.
Three years of practice as an attorney, healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
Legal healthcare experience is highly desired.
Knowledge of State and Federal healthcare regulations including CA Title 22, Joint Commission standards and CMS Conditions of Participation.
Valid California driver’s license, acceptable driving history and liability insurance.
