Chief Legal Officer

Chief Legal Officer will be a legal generalist and specialize in Intellectual Property, Board & Investor Relations, Contract Law & Corporate Litigation, Organizational Compliance,  Employment Labor Law, and operate as the legal counsel for the CEO and leadership of Onyx. This leader will develop strong legal framework in support of our organizational effectiveness, innovation, compliance and risk mitigation.

Responsibilities:

Provide Senior leadership counsel on legal matters and minimize legal risks to the organization while maximizing our ability to grow and innovate
Keep senior leadership apprised of compliance issues and recommend proactive measures to prevent any concerns
Identify, analyze and report on important legislative and regulatory developments
Provide counsel and representation on litigation matters
Review and approve legal contracts and oversee confidentiality agreements
Provide expert and strategic legal expertise to senior leaders
Handle complex, significant matters that cut across legal and related areas
Qualifications and Skills:  

BS degree in Law or JD Degree
Proven Legal counsel experience in a business environment and ability to coach and develop staff members
Minimum of 7-10 years of hands-on experience in Intellectual Property, Labor Law, Board and Investor Relations. Corporate Litigation, and Organizational Compliance.
Strong legal skills and analysis with the ability to effectively identify and communicate risks and guidance to others
Background in e-commerce, retail technology services businesses preferred
Ability to develop legal strategy and objectives
High degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in communicating internally and externally
Strong Critical thinking and strategic analytical skills
Ability to prioritize to achieve goals and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic and complex professional environment with many time-sensitive deliverables
