How You'll Make An Impact

Every role at BlenderBottle is critical to our successful functioning as a whole. As General Counsel, you will provide creative and proactive legal guidance. The right person for this role must have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, a desire to contribute to a constantly evolving business and be motivated to learn the company's business and develop deeper and broader legal expertise. This role will support a variety of commercial matters with additional work based on the business's needs and the individual's skills and experience.

Your specific responsibilities as a part of our team will include:

Coordinate with stakeholders throughout the company to draft, review, negotiate, interpret and advise on a variety of domestic and international contracts and agreements for a growing organization with wide-ranging needs.
Oversee and continuously improve the contract review, approval, and retention process, including developing, implementing and enhancing processes that expedite contracting without material increases in risk.
Stay on top of changing regulations, laws and industry standards and effectively work with a variety of business stakeholders to develop and implement practices and standards that support innovation and growth while maintaining appropriate commercial risk.
Review and ensure compliance with all federal, state and local government regulations as applicable to the business.
Assesses, manage and anticipate organizational risk and support the organization's operations with prompt, sound legal advice. Co-manage the direction of the legal department in conjunction with other in-house counsel.
Effectively build and support internal and external relationships. Communicate potential issues clearly and concisely to stakeholders across the company, to resolve in a timely manner.
Be flexible with the scope and variety of projects to be undertaken in this role and be ready to take on anything else that arises to support a fast-paced, innovative company.
What You'll Bring to the Team

We seek employees who are adept at contributing their personal expertise to a collaborative work environment. For this role, we're looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

JD from an accredited U.S. law school.
Member of the Utah State Bar in good standing.
10-15 years of relevant post-law school legal experience, preferably in an in-house legal department.
Prior background or experience with corporate law, especially contracts.
Excellent negotiation, written and verbal communication, and research skills.
Deadline driven, capable of managing multiple critical projects; excellent organization and time management skills.
Quick thinking with superior analytical ability and strong attention to detail.
Robust Computer skills.
A strong desire to solve problems, a strong record of sound business judgment with a balanced focus on both legal and business concerns, and great decision-making skills.
Maintain a team attitude that no job is too big or too small with a solutions-oriented focus, a talent for thinking outside of the box in confronting new issues and pursuing novel approaches to old problems.
Remain positive, professional, calm and focused; create associations of trust and respect with key stakeholders across the organization both internally and externally.
Preferred skills and experience:

Drafting, reviewing, interpreting, negotiating and advising on sales, distribution, purchase, supply, manufacturing, and nondisclosure agreements, including international agreements.
Expertise in one or more of these areas of the law: advertising and marketing, bankruptcy collection, copyright, labor and employment, insurance, regulatory (e.g., consumer product safety), trademark, and transportation.
Experience providing legal services to a consumer products company.
MBA preferred
