General Counsel

Cerebral Palsy Associations of New York State Metro Services is a leading multi service organization providing services and programs for people with developmental disabilities.

Currently we are seeking a highly qualified Legal Counsel to work in our New York City, Midtown office to provide legal representation and guidance for our Agency. Responsibilities include providing expert and strategic legal guidance to the executive staff on all matters that affect the Agency, sets internal governance policies and manages the impact of external factors, represents Agency in legal matters including lawsuits, administrative and regulatory investigations and hearings, negotiations, and dealing with outside agencies, service providers, contractors and landlords. Develops and review contracts, leases, and other documents affecting the Agency. Oversees compliance and risk management. Represents service recipients in legal matters.

The successful candidate should have Juris Doctor Degree, admitted to NYS Bar, and minimum 5 - 7 years of overall broad legal knowledge including corporate law, not for profit, litigation, labor law, etc. with outstanding communication skills and sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information
