AgSouth Farm Credit, ACA, is currently seeking a Senior Attorney/General Counsel to join our growing team.  The selected candidate will serve as chief legal officer for the Association and will direct and supervise all legal aspects of transactional, litigation, and regulatory matters related to the Association.  The successful candidate for this position also serves as the Association Standards of Conduct Officer.
 
Responsibilities/Duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Participates as a member of the management team in the development of the Associations’ business plans and associated programs.
Provides guidance and legal counsel to the Board of Directors and Association management.
Develops and implements the standards, procedures, and guidelines for compliance with the Association’s Standards of Conduct (SOC) policy.
Monitors and evaluates compliance of the SOC policy.
Provides legal oversight of issues related to contracts, agreements, and related matters.
Assists Association management and staff in developing policies and procedures.
Provides advice and review concerning the Association’s participation in credits with other lenders.
Researches and analyzes various legal issues; summarizes findings and renders opinions as needed.
Reviews and keeps current on state and federal laws and judicial decisions affecting lending.
Provides supervision and oversight of the Association’s Special Asset Department.

Undergraduate and law degree from ABA accredited school – licensed to practice law and in good standing with State Bar.

Licensed to practice law and in good standing in both South Carolina and Georgia

Details
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:  This is a full time position in an office setting with travel on an as-needed basis. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work as job duties demand.
