The Legal team at AppDirect is focused on efficiently providing practical legal advice. AppDirect is a dynamic and rapidly growing company and needs sharp, humble, and resilient attorneys able to manage competing priorities, independently structure and resolve sophisticated technology transactions, provide sound advice to AppDirect’s product teams, and otherwise support colleagues throughout the company to maintain a solid foundation for AppDirect’s continued success and growth.

About You:
The General Counsel at AppDirect is a proven business-minded leader who oversees legal matters throughout the company. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and results driven professional  with strong management experience at a high-growth technology company. You will directly field and  resolve legal matters from start to finish as a contributor to the team, and you will also be responsible for managing the department.
You will build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders across the company and provide pragmatic solutions to legal risks. You will successfully maintain, develop, and scale our legal processes on behalf of both internal and external stakeholders.
How you’ll make an impact & what you’ll do:
Support our growing worldwide sales team on complex commercial SaaS transactions with a highly sophisticated and geographically diverse customer base
Participate in strategic business initiatives including matters related to M&A activity
Represent the AppDirect legal department globally, interfacing with executive leadership and our Board of Directors
Own the development of legal matters related to international expansion and operations
Develop the team and legal processes with a continued focus on compliance and career development
Manage the administration of legal budget, team hiring, legal tools, and external legal counsel
What you’ll need:
Minimum 15 years experience and JD degree from an accredited school
Extensive background in drafting and negotiating services agreements, enterprise sales contracts, licenses and intellectual property agreements with highly sophisticated counterparties in the U.S. as well as international markets
Legal familiarity/expertise with distributor/reseller agreements and relationships.
Proven experience building and managing a legal team capable of keeping up with a rapidly growing enterprise technology company
Broad direct experience with a variety of legal matters, including strategic business agreements, commercial contract negotiation, information security and compliance, privacy, corporate governance, intellectual property rights, international expansion and management of affiliates
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
Experience with SaaS and PaaS models and related legal, technical and business issues
Experience developing company strategic and operational goals, and working closely with business units to improve their operations
