Guayakí is a rare entity – both rapidly growing at scale and truly mission-driven. Its missions include reforestation of the South American Atlantic Rain Forest Canopy, as well as being sustainable in its operations and providing a healthy, organic and flavorful product.

The Company distributes its beverages broadly in the United States – everywhere from Whole Foods to Publix to 7-Eleven. Guayakí leads the nascent yerba maté drink category in the United States and is driving hard into a self-distributing model and international expansion that will open the doors for much broader growth.

Overview: Working as a key member of the management team, the General Counsel will provide legal advice and counsel to the board, senior management and the operating groups regarding all aspects of the company’s legal, risk, and operations functions.

Experience: 8+ years of broad-based corporate/commercial experience. Areas of competence and familiarity should encompass aspects of corporate, commercial contracts, litigation, financings, regulatory (FDA), governance, compliance, and intellectual property. Am Law 200 law firm training and prior in-house experience is preferred.

Requirements: The successful candidate will be both hands-on and strategic in their approach and capabilities. The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced but collegial and ‘flat’ environment is essential. Some national and international travel will be required, as well as phone calls and meetings outside of regular business hours to support the national and international components of the business.

Compensation: Competitive and Commensurate with Experience
