General Counsel

Your Impact:

Serving as the chief legal advisor to the Firm

Providing day to day advice on a variety of sophisticated legal issues to senior management and other business leaders, client engagement teams, and stakeholders of the Firm

Collaborating as a business partner to assist the Firm, analyze the legal issues relating to its decisions, and weigh it against business needs.

Anticipating and guarding against legal risks involving the Firm

Coordinating the Firm’s efforts to remain compliant with all applicable legal and regulatory obligations.

Advising on potential risks or claims, including mitigating or eliminating risk, compliance issues and insurance coverage issues

Advising on corporate matters, including legal efforts related to reviewing and executing potential merger & acquisition candidates, including tuck-ins in the investment space

Providing guidance related to reviewing structure of legal entities and impacts of potential changes

Providing guidance on options of structuring equity plans, navigating the implications of various changes and impacts.

Counseling on all aspects of employment and other human capital-related matters

Negotiating, drafting and analyzing risks related to agreements and other contracts on behalf of the Firm, including employment, client and vendor-related agreements.

Managing relationships with the Firm’s outside counsel

Performing other job-related duties as assigned, including special projects that may be assigned from time to time

What You’ll Offer:

Juris Doctorate Required from an accredited institution

Possesses strong analytic, critical thinking and applies good judgment, and is capable of providing creative and practice solutions

Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, including ability to work as a team player with a collaborative team and establish and maintain strong working relationships

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing, with internal stakeholders and external client and vendor relationships, including the ability to be an active listener, send clear, accurate and precise written communications, draft and deliver presentations, and present ideas and collaborate in one-on-one and in team meetings

Prioritizes client service – works well with internal “clients” and other stakeholders, including the ability to establish meaningful rapport with sophisticated clients to gain their confidence, gaining an intimate knowledge of their lives / objectives so as to be able to anticipate their needs and respond quickly to demanding clients’ various requests.

A proven ability to multi-task and work both independently in a fast-paced, demanding environment

Strong corporate law/commercial contracts background,

Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, including experience in analysis, review, and drafting of complex vendor contracts

Excellent organizational and project management skills, including ability to scope projects correctly, navigate and meet deadlines, manage and resolve competing priorities and attention to detail

Knowledge of applicable legal and regulatory requirements relating to employment, contracts, licensing, software as a service, marketing, technology, privacy and security, and will have experience partnering with business teams on a variety of projects

Possesses a strong work ethic, a desire to expand knowledge base and skillset as necessary to improve performance, and responds well to coaching and feedback

We’d love to see:

15+ years of relevant work experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department, including experience advising on general corporate transactions and commercial contracts

Background with Professional Services, Financial Services and/or Wealth Management firms
