Job Duties
Must be able to offer advice and opinion on legal matters and perform legal research for the benefit of Athas Capital Group, Inc.
Prospect must be able to offer advice and opinion on legal contracts, state licensing, finance agreements, compliance with state and federal lending laws, government regulations and employment laws for the benefit of Athas Capital Group, Inc.
Oversees compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Review and approve all marketing materials.
Review, drafting, and negotiation of various agreements including but not limited to nondisclosureagreements, vendor agreements and other contracts for services, leases, mortgage loan purchase agreements,correspondent agreements.
Assist in drafting various compliance and employment policies and procedures.
Requirements
Minimum of three (3) years of Corporate Counsel experience.
In-depth knowledge of Mortgage Lender Laws.
Must be able to commute to Calabasas, CA five days a week.
Advise Human Resources Department regarding all employment law related issues.
Skills
Able to demonstrate a proactive, hardworking, flexible and able to work under own initiative but also a team player.
Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products.
Highly motivated and determined to succeed in a competitive, time sensitive industry

Desired Experience
Prior experience in real estate and mortgage lending is a plus.
Employment Law a huge plus.
Hard Money and Nonprime mortgage experience a plus.

Required Education
Doctorate and must be licensed and admitted by the American Bar Association.
