General Counsel & Patent Attorney

In-house counsel position for a patent attorney who can provide IP and contract law legal services for a fast growing IT company that is a leader in its industry. Successful candidates possess a unique mixture of IP and business law competencies along with the ability to interact with technical, sales, and business development teams, allowing the candidate to participate in both technical and business conversations with similar ease.

Duties include:

Managing company IP portfolio including drafting and filing patent applications for engineering team,
Drafting and negotiating complex design/build, construction, telecom, software installation, and consulting agreements,
Reviewing and drafting company policies and procedures,
Drafting and maintaining AmpThink form bank,
Managing the day-to-day legal affairs of the business,
And providing legal advice to the officers of the company on various topics as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
Technical Requirements:

Juris Doctorate (J.D.) Degree from an accredited law school.
Licensed in Texas. Additional jurisdictions of licensure a plus but not required.
5-8 years in practice at a law firm and/or in-house.
Experience drafting and filing patent applications.
M&A or Tax experience a plus but not required.
