General Counsel

The CEO’s Office supports SumUp’s Founder and Global CEO in driving the company’s vision and mission forward through rapid growth and transformation. We’re looking to add an experienced General Counsel to our cross-functional team of four. In this role, you will:

Support the CEO and executive team in all strategically relevant legal matters

Coordinate a global team of three legal experts and multiple external legal firms

Draft, review, negotiate and advise on all types of agreements and legal documents

Assist with shareholder and M&A strategy, due diligence, and analysis

Negotiate and resolve all relevant legal disputes and litigation

YOU'LL BE GREAT FOR THIS POSITION IF

You have a law degree, bar admission and at least 10 years of experience as an in-house counsel in a technology company, legal firm, private equity or venture capital firm.

You have experience working in an international environment across a variety of jurisdictions and are familiar with the banking or payment industry.

You excel at keeping an overview of complex, multi-faceted systems and are not afraid of getting your hands dirty.
