Priority Wire & Priority1 are seeking General Counsel to oversee all legal aspects of our business. Counsel will be responsible for leading all strategic legal initiatives, managing external factors and limit risk exposure of the origination. This position will work with our management teams to ensure the company is always in compliance with industry employment and business laws.

Description:

Provide expert legal guidance to management teams on all matters that affect the company
Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action
Judges the merits of major court cases filed against or on behalf of the company, works with the appropriate department heads to define a strategic defense and approves settlements of disputes where warranted
Oversee Human Resources and all matters related to employment law
Create vendor contracts and contractor agreements
Identify proactive solutions that will eliminate or mitigate risks
Oversees the selection, retention, management and evaluation of all outside counsel
Ensure that the company is in compliance with all current business process laws
Conducting legal research and reviewing company's litigation strategy pertaining to legal actions
Provide training to company on substantive legal topics
Perform pre-litigation work to minimize risks and maximize legal rights
Research unique legal issues impacting the organization by identifying applicable statutes
Advise executives on contract status, legal risks and business terms of various deals
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Job Requirements:

Law Degree is required
Admitted to the bar
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a law firm environment
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a General Counsel or Similar role
Proven understanding of national labor laws
Experience, including reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex agreements
