About the Role:
You will be in charge of building from scratch the legal & compliance functions at Aircall with the focus of turning them into a key strategic asset for the company.
What you'll do:
Define templates for client agreements and educate Sales / Account Management teams
Draft and/or negotiate agreements with clients, business partners & service providers
Oversee IP matters (patents, trademarks) & data privacy regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, Privacy Shield)
Oversee corporate compliance in conjunction with Finance & People teams (including HR, Corporate, Stock Option Plan & Tax Issues)
Collaborate with CFO on investor reporting & fundraising activities
Select & manage outside counsel on behalf of Aircall
Advise & educate internal teams on legal considerations
What you'll bring:
5 to 10+ years of experience at a law rm and/or work as a General Counsel or Associate General Counsel
Licensed to practice law in New York State or in France
Experience with contract law & intellectual property

Nice-To-Haves:
Practical & business-oriented; seasoned in analyzing risk & business-opportunities
Experience working with entities across both the US & France
Knowledge of the SaaS start-up space
Ability to explain legal concepts to non-lawyers
Flexibility to accommodate diverse interests & needs
Experience drafting & negotiating commercial contracts, partnership agreements, content permission/IP licensing agreements, vendor/service provider agreements, real estate leases & equity/debt financing agreements
