General Counsel

Wedding Holdings is seeking a general counsel to assist with all companies under the Wedding Holdings umbrella, this position reports to the VP COO and CEO. The Corporate Attorney will handle transactions on his/her own (occasionally supported by other in house attorney’s) and provide general counseling. This lawyer will negotiate and draft documentation for a wide range of contracts and advice on general legal matters to clients in the construction, real estate, car sales and finance industry. Wedding Holdings offers sophisticated work with substantial responsibility.

General Counsel Responsibilities:

Draft, negotiate and administer contracts with a view to meeting business goals, attention to deadline and managing risk
Must be able to negotiate and advise on a variety of contracts, including supply agreements, construction contracts, vendor contracts and real estate leases.
Demonstrate expertise and thorough knowledge of consumer finance, privacy, corporate, contract, and insurance laws.
Provide expert advice and counsel to operations and management concerning complex legal-regulatory matters and ensure compliance with all applicable law as well as compliance with corporate policy and values.
Review and negotiate sophisticated complex contracts such as software license agreements, master services agreements, banking services agreements, purchase or sale agreements, vendor agreements, construction agreements, employment agreements, leases and lease related documents.
Assist in responding to governmental audits/examinations, customer complaints and/or inquiries from any state or federal agency.
Support field operations in multi-state operations with numerous locations and provide guidance to branches and management on various operations and state law issues as same arise.
Assist in corporate record keeping.
General Counsel Qualifications:

3-5 years’ experience with proven background in contracts and commercial transactions
Candidate will be an efficient and organized worker with an ability to multitask on a variety of matters under significant time pressure
He or she will be highly motivated, detail-oriented and attracted to challenging opportunities within a rapidly growing environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Sound judgment, and strong interpersonal, project management and organizational skills
In-house experience is preferred
Law degree required
Good attendance and punctuality are required.
Ability to travel required (20%)
