NWN is looking for a General Counsel to join our team in Waltham, MA. This is a full time position with full benefits.

The scope of essential job responsibilities includes but is not limited to:
Ensuring regulatory filings are completed correctly and on time.
Leading on all ongoing legal requirements of the Company.
Working with stakeholders throughout the organization to further develop compliance procedures and policies.
Overseeing and managing NWN's relationships with outside legal counsel.
Identifying and overseeing the engagement of highly specialized firms who are the best in their fields, when applicable.
Preparing, negotiating, and managing a wide variety of contractual arrangements.
Assisting with the drafting of submissions on regulatory matters.
Developing processes and tools to scale compliance programs to support NWN's operations.
Assisting with the drafting, implementation, training, and periodic revisions of corporate policies.
Supporting the Company and its stakeholders in a variety of legal matters; employee issues, general organizational matters, etc.
Identifying and tracking regulatory developments and best practices in the areas of compliance, securities law, and corporate governance.
Assisting in the legal review of investment documents, credit agreements and other corporate documents.
Manage a team of [5] contracts administrators.

The successful candidate for this position will meet these minimum requirements:
Law degree (LLB; JD) and is a member of a state bar, along with knowledge of the U.S. legal framework.
7-10 years of legal experience.
Experience in telco/communications regulations required
Knowledge of corporate law.
Corporate governance experience.
Knowledge of FCC and state regulations, audit, and control, as well as all other potential compliance requirements.
Highly self-motivated and proactive.
Expertise in contract writing, including sales and purchasing, Master Supply Agreements and Statements of Work.
Entrepreneurial with a willingness to identify and solve potential issues.
Team-oriented and demonstrated track record of commitment to shared success.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop collaborative relationships at all levels in inside and outside the organization.
Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in all matters.
Excellent organizational skills and capability to effectively manage priorities while meeting timeline.
The following qualifications are ideal, but not required:
Experience as in-house counsel is a plus.
