TransLoc’s mission is to help riders on public transportation reach their jobs and schools in the most equitable, accessible, informative and optimized way ever. Unlike other technology companies, we believe that public transit is central to the future of mobility and our products help agencies by bridging the chasm between today’s needs and tomorrow’s demands. Are you aligned with our mission and values? We want to hear from you!

What are we looking for?

As part of the leadership team and reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, this position provides timely expert legal advice to the company.  You will work directly with the senior leadership team including the CEO and the Vice President of People. The role will handle a diverse variety of legal matters, but will include a general focus on federal and state regulatory interpretation and guidance, government contracts and RFPs, and privacy laws.  Significant functions will include driving implementation of regulatory requirements; negotiating with government agencies; advising on the application of federal, state, privacy, and employment law; owning and maintaining corporate governance documents and meetings; and customer and vendor contract review and drafting.

Are you...

Driven by success. You are invested in your team’s achievements, focused on company goals, and take the time to understand and deliver on the needs of key business stakeholders.
Self-organized and diligent. Your desire for order comes from within; you are able to context-switch quickly and keep track of a variety of moving pieces without losing a beat.
A relentless collaborator. Regardless of title or team, you are ready, willing, and able to dive in when someone needs help.
An owner. You take ownership - whether this means tackling problems or devising new solutions, you’ve got it covered. You will be running your own show.
Bored with the status quo. You’re never satisfied with hearing “that’s how we’ve always done it” as an answer.
Allergic to the blame game. You’re focused on forward progress, and believe you can make progress without pointing out the mistakes of others.
A force multiplier. You share your knowledge and experience in order to enable others to contribute their best work towards the success of the team.
You should have...

7+ years of experience and increasing responsibility in a law firm or corporate legal setting
Juris Doctorate from accredited law school required
Licensed to practice law in North Carolina; in good standing in all jurisdictions of licensure
Knowledge and expertise in USDOT and FTA rules and regulations is a plus but not required
