The Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA), a public benefit corporation responsible for managing Whiteface, Gore, and Belleayre Mountains, as well as the facilities from the 1980 Winter Olympics, is seeking General Counsel and Executive Vice President for Legal Affairs and Government Relations to lead its legal efforts and spearhead interactions with the State and Federal governments. The successful candidate will be an experienced attorney, preferably with a background in government contracting, legislative affairs, commercial and corporate law, and land use law and policy.   The candidate will serve as a key member of ORDA’s executive team and will be responsible for providing advice to executive and operations staff, as well as interfacing with local and state elected officials and assisting in the preparation of the annual budget. Other duties will include: ensuring regulatory and corporate compliance; overseeing and administering certain contracts; managing outside counsel in litigation matters; preparing replies to correspondence on complicated questions of law; and acting as ORDA’s FOIL and ethics officer.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have been admitted to the New York State Bar and must have had a minimum of ten years of experience in the practice of law subsequent to admission to the Bar. Public sector experience is preferred, but not required.
