General Counsel

We are seeking General Counsel to join our in house legal team in Marietta, GA.

Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for handling and obtaining results in a variety of complex litigation, risk mitigation, and corporate commercial matters and projects across the Company. Specific duties:
Manages and supervises business and legal decisions in large, complex litigation cases, including overseeing and managing outside counsel;
Reviews, edits, and negotiates commercial and governmental contracts as well as other legal documents, including lease agreements, general waivers and releases, corporate governance documents, employment agreements, promissory notes, NDAs, and M&A transaction materials;
Acts as trusted advisor for mid to high level management on legal rights and obligations; has strong grasp of business environment; provides legal as well as practical advice within the appropriate business context;
Provides support and leadership in improvement and issue-resolution projects in both the Legal function and within the business units;
Researches, evaluates and advises management and other attorneys on recent or prospective changes in laws and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in house with a corporation and at least 2 years of experience in private practice as a litigator
2+ years of experience in governmental contracting
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
Current Georgia Bar license
