Bungie is looking for a talented Attorney to partner with and support our growing entertainment business. If you have a passion for business at the intersection of entertainment and technological innovation, this could be the place for you. You will have significant influence on the development and execution of our strategy, and will help us navigate complex and novel business and legal issues.
 
The General Counsel is a trusted advisor to the Executive Leadership team.  You will provide legal advice on both strategic and operational matters; advise the Leadership team and Board of Directors on issues currently and potentially affecting the Company; and act as a Business Advisor by understanding the organization’s strategic direction and integrating legal decisions into that framework. Additionally, this person will provide leadership and perspective on Bungie and its position in the entertainment industry; be a critical leader in the creation and execution of the company’s strategy; and manage the day-to-day activities of the legal division including corporate governance, real estate, marketing regulatory compliance, contracts, licensing, employment matters, information security, and other relevant business issues.

The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead corporate strategic and tactical legal initiatives
Provide business units and senior management with effective advice on company strategies and their implementation, manage the legal function, and obtain and oversee the work of outside counsel in actions in which the corporation is a party
Drive complex business transactions in negotiating critical contracts
Oversee corporate governance, compliance and legislative and regulatory functions
Assist in the development of short and long term corporate strategic and operational plans with emphasis on evaluating and developing business and legal strategies to assist the organization in its operations & objectives in a manner that is compliant with policies, regulations and laws while providing counsel to company management and business divisions
Provide counsel on corporate governance to assist executive management and the Board of Directors
Provide input into the development of corporate long-term strategic plans
Confer with stakeholders to identify needs that are not being met and develop strategy to meet those needs
Represent Bungie by participating in industry, business, and professional organizations
Formulate and manage division budget
Communicate corporate philosophies, goals, plans and progress
Exemplify corporate values
Meet agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner
REQUIRED SKILLS
J. D. required from a leading recognized law school
Registered and in good standing with at least one State Bar and eligible to practice law in the State of Washington
The successful candidate will have 10-15 years of progressive legal in-house experience managing a legal division or department in a complex, dynamic and highly competitive consumer industry
Effective oral and written communication skills in communicating business and legal issues with and between developers, engineers and business leaders
Common sense and sound judgment in ambiguous situations
Demonstrated ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, and follow through and meet deadlines
The candidate will have demonstrated success in influencing strategic business decisions
Experience in dynamic, fast moving and complex businesses
Must have demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others and proven track records of employee training and development
Ability to effectively represent the company in various industry, regulatory and judicial forums
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
Strong analytical and computer skills
A scintillating personality and astounding sense of humor
