HBUS is now looking for a General Counsel to join the exciting new adventure. This person will join a fast-paced, collegial, and innovative team, providing legal counsel to HBUS's product, business and operations teams, focusing on the regulatory side of our business.

What You Will Do

Serve as a trusted advisor to the business on legal issues relating to HBUS’s marketplace platform and general operations.
Work closely with HBUS’s product and technology team, advising on the development of new products and services.
Work closely with HBUS's Compliance Department to design, develop and maintain processes and procedures.
Manage, review and update legal agreements related to HBUS’s virtual currency marketplace platform.
Represent HBUS with state and federal regulators; manage enforcement actions, inquires and investigations.
Support HBUS’s government relations efforts; including research and support on state and federal public policy issues.
What You Need to Have

J.D. with solid academic credentials and a State bar member in good standing.
3-6 years of relevant legal experience, including at least 3+ years in-house at a financial technology company, bank, or at a top-tier law firm (in-house experience preferred, but not required).
A demonstrated ability to understand business needs and to serve as a trusted advisor, providing sound, transparent legal advice.
Ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills and an upbeat attitude.
Familiarity with financial services regulation and licenses such at MBS, ATS…etc
