General Counsel, Americas

L.E.K. Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced attorney, reporting to Group General Counsel/Director-Risk, who can work with our U.S. and Brazil offices, to lead the Americas legal team; direct external counsel; provide legal advice to internal clients on a broad range of topics, including employment law, privacy, and intellectual property; draft and negotiate contracts; and work across departments and with partners and staff to understand our firm’s business and identify legal issues. The General Counsel-Americas will be expected to:

Responsibilities:

Represent L.E.K. in legal matters;
Provide legal advice on employment law related matters;
Assist with reviewing and updating policies to ensure compliance with applicable law;
Manage risk through the drafting and negotiating of agreements and leading the Americas-based Contracts Team;
Lead with guidance from Group Counsel, Americas conflicts management team;
Remain up to date on current applicable laws;
Work with external counsel;
Advise senior management on legal matters;
Serve as a resource within the firm for legal advice;
Work across departments to identify legal issues impacting the firm;
Manage a team of 2-3 lawyers on contracts review and negotiation, as well as manage Americas legal team;
Work with Group General Counsel on implementing new risk policies and proactive approach to managing risk and legal issues as the firm continues to grow and evolve.
Qualifications:

J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in MA and, preferably NY
8-10 years’ experience, with a law firm and in house experience
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and willingness to travel
Excellent written, analytical and verbal skills
Able to work in a fast-paced, growing and dynamic environment with integrity, patience and a sense of humor
Experience working with legal tech.
